100 Years of WV Credit Unions

100 Years of WV Credit Unions

100 years ago in the state of West Virginia, state-chartered credit unions were created and placed under the supervision of the Superintendent of Banks. Since then, credit unions have been Advancing Communities in the Mountain State.

West Virginia’s credit unions advance the lives of their members through good and bad times. They work to help West Virginians build their dreams, protect their homes, start AND expand local businesses, and bond our communities together. This year, we are privileged to celebrate 100 years of credit union fostered prosperity in our great state.

Today, West Virginia has 76 credit unions with 2 million total credit union members generating a $386 million economic impact. A lot has changed in the last 100 years, but credit unions have been there for their members every step of the way, and we plan to continue that well into the future.

Our goal is the continued advancement and development of our West Virginia communities. Share your story to tell others how credit unions have advanced your community.  https://cusforwestvirginia.com/share-your-story/

Thank you for joining us in celebrating Advancing Communities in West Virginia for 100 Years and helping us pave the way for a brighter tomorrow for all West Virginians.
